Weihenstephan

Weihenstephan is the oldest continuously operating brewery in the world and an official symbol of German brewing tradition and quality. Founded in 1040 in the Bavarian town of Freising, on the grounds of a Benedictine monastery, Weihenstephan has been brewing beer for nearly 1,000 years, remaining a flagship of Bavarian brewing and one of the most respected producers globally.

Today, Weihenstephan is a state-owned Bavarian brewery (Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan), owned by the government of Bavaria, and works closely with the Technical University of Munich. This makes it not only a brewery with a unique heritage but also an innovative scientific center. The brewery continues to serve as a training base for future brewers from around the world and a leader in implementing technological solutions that combine tradition and scientific approaches.

Weihenstephan’s products are exported to more than 50 countries, and the brand consistently receives top awards at international competitions, including the World Beer Cup, European Beer Star, World Beer Awards, Monde Selection, Australian International Beer Awards, and International Brewing Awards.
